Flamingos
Flamingos represent beauty, balance, grace and confidence and finding out that flamingos arrive in Cyprus from Africa, the Indian subcontinent the Middle East ast and southern Europe is something more than exciting! You can see them on the island between November and March. They usually reside in Larnaca, Akrotiri and Oroklini salt lakes. Some of the weird facts is that they are not born pink and that a unique black flamingo arrived in Cyprus in the past few years. It is thought they may stand (and sleep) on one leg to conserve body heat. With at least 10 000 of them on the island at the moment, some stick around all year round! So bring your camera and see you at the salt lakes!
